The Southern Explorer is a 10 day self-drive tour highlighting some of the most important areas of old ‘colonial’ America, in Georgia (Savannah) and the Carolinas (Charleston), as well as the modern cities of Atlanta and of Asheville, gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains.

History drips out of every pore of Savannah & Charleston, much like the Spanish Moss adorning many of oak trees. Take a carriage ride or walk the cobbled streets past antebellum homes – you’re back into the era of ‘Gone with the Wind’.

On your way between these locations you can visit any of the many islands that dot this part of the East Coast.
